Bangladesh Society of Microbiologists (BSM) is organizing a series of online workshops on ‘Next Generation Sequencing’. The workshop will be conducted by Mr Shaminur Rahman, a Graduate from Department of Microbiology, University of Dhaka and currently working in the expert pool of COVID 19 laboratory management.

Part 1 of is workshop series will focus on Mutational analysis and visualization, using COVID 19 genome as an example. The lectures will cover the followings-

  •  Introduction to COVID-19 genome repository
  •  Introduction with Linux (Ubuntu) and Anaconda
  •  Variant analysis through python and bio-python language
  •  Insertion and deletion analysis
  •  Data visualization through R (R and Rstudio)
  •  Evidence confirmation through NGS technology

This part 1 workshop will start on 27th March 2021 and will comprise of 5 consecutive lectures ending on 31st March, 2021. On each day lecture will start at 7.30 PM and will end at 9PM. The topic that each lecture will follow are as following-
