Coronavirus onslaught: Global Perspective and Bangladesh Preparedness
A seminar was organized at the Department of Microbiology, University of Dhaka, to disseminate information and create awareness about the 2019 novel Coronavirus (nCoronavirus). The seminar was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Society of Microbiologists and the Department of Microbiology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Dr. AKM Sirajul Islam Khan
Bangladesh Society of Microbiologists (BSM) deeply mourns the sudden demise of Professor Dr. AKM Sirajul Islam Khan, renowned scientist and former president of Bangladesh Society of Microbiologists (BSM). Professor Khan passed away on the 14th December 2019 (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun).
